I happened to receive a request from my teacher to design the cover for a sport event brochure. I thought it would be a good chance to practice and build up this portfolio so i started designing after my tests. It's also quite cool to have your own design printed for the whole school ^3^)/ Cheers!
I started off by brainstorming and finding inspirations online, newspaper would be a good source as well. Then I came across hurdles and high jump etcetc...the typical sport items. Initially, I actually thought of using high jump as my main subject matter since I was quite fascinated by its aerodynamic body movements. However, as I go on to experiment with expressing my ideas it didn't turn out as impactful as I wanted so I gave up on this idea in the end...
Then I went back to my first stage, looking for ideas online again. This time decided to try on hurdling! Actually there's much more images that I came across haha but here is just some important ones. I like the composition in the second picture! The other one is rather action-based and most sport photos are like that: meaning sideview of the competitor jumping over hurdles.

From here I proceed to the next stage: planning composition. As I don't really have much time to experiment with different ideas, I went straight into working on the idea of silhoutte. I learnt my lesson not to start working only one or two nights before the deadline.
